Leslie Knott

Leslie Knott is an award-winning Canadian documentary filmmaker and photographer. Nominated for both an Academy Award and an Emmy, she is recognised for her compassionate storytelling. Co-founder of Tiger Nest Films, Leslie’s filming has taken her to some of the most remote and unstable parts of the world.  Leslie spent over a decade in Afghanistan, setting up a radio station for women in the rural province of Faryab, and launching the Afghan Film Project that funded the Oscar nominated film Buzkashi Boys. She spent many years following the Afghan cricket team on their extraordinary journey from refugee camp to the World Cup for her multiple award-winning BBC Storyville film, Out of the Ashes. Leslie’s films can be seen on Netflix, BBC, ABC, Channel 4, PBS and CNN.
