Client: GlaxoSmithKline
Campaign/Project: Annual Report, corporate social responsibility initiatives and advertorials.
Locations: Kigali, in Rwanda, Bonsaaso, and Kintampo, in Ghana
Photographer: Jonathan Torgovnik
WHAT: GSK commissioned Jonathan to undertake a series of shoots in both Ghana and Rwanda to portray their contribution to the cancer control and mosquito born Malaria which were then used to illustrate their annual report, corporate social responsibility initiatives and latterly advertorials in the press.
HOW: GSK engaged with us to understand their needs and aims for the project, we then provided them with Jonathan’s work and explained that to maximize these outcomes Jonathan would be the perfect choice, Jonathan, our team and GSK worked closely to pull together briefing and a schedule of events, allowing Jonathan to fly into Kigali, Rwanda and travel into the country to the rural hospital in Butaro, where he photographed health care workers and patients, this allowed Jonathan to capture a realistic representation of the environment in the hospital and the benefits of the aid and education by GlaxoSmithKline for the patients receiving treatment in Rwanda. Following the success of this trip, GSK returned to us to construct a second assignment with the focus on Malaria, Jonathan this time traveled to Bonsaaso and Kintampo, capturing accurately the cause, effects and treatment of malaria over a five day shoot window. Upon returning Jonathan presented informative and compelling imagery which was delivered on time and budget.
